Sunshine Mountain Lodge

Excellent location, hotel, and service. There was no a/c, fridge, microwave, or iron in the room. Also, don't forget to bring your mosquito repellent as there are a lot of mosquitos in the area. The restaurant was just OK. We gas our paid breakfast and the tea and coffee were cold. Also, its price wasn't mentioned in the menu.

Interesting location accessible by gondola or pick up truck. Great view at the top and great access to the chair lifts and hiking. Staff are inexperienced and don't seem well managed or supported. Rooms are small, no fridge or safe. Restaurant is poor quality and experienced billing issues at the end Disappointing overall.

I recently traveled to Banff Canada for a very special birthday celebration with my young adult children and it exceeded our highest hopes! Immediately upon our arrival at the lower level of Sunshine Mountain Village, we were greeted by Tahane who was very personable, informative, and upbeat. She welcomed us and got us checked into the resort. She took care of getting our luggage up to the Lodge and directed us to the gondola that would bring us up the beautiful mountain side to the charming accommodations above. The gondola ride was a magical experience that we savored throughout our week-long stay. When we arrived up at the lodge, Susanna greeted us, gave us the hotel information along with recommendations for dinner and local attractions. Throughout our stay both Tahane and Susanna were superstars! They’re were extremely friendly and helpful each day and made our time at the lodge extra special! We dined for breakfast in the dining room twice and had the pleasure of meeting Callum. He was professional, engaging, and extremely attentive to our needs. This resort is tranquil with a heavenly mountain environment and has so much to offer yet its greatest asset is the employees. Everyone we met was personable, enthusiastic, and eager to help us! We want to thank Erica, Maika, and Victoria for their help and friendliness at the front desk. Shuttle drivers Josh, Milson, Mikaleus, and Jack did a great job. Fiona and Charlotte were excellent servers in the dining room where the food was delicious, with a beautiful presentation, and very affordable. Also thanks to Jakob who assisted us with the evening s’mores gathering which was a delightful experience! We loved riding the chairlift to the top of the mountain then hiking to the three beautiful lakes along the adjoining trail! Our week was fantastic and flew by too quickly. We cannot thank you all enough and hoping to return again in the future!

The rooms are clean and spacious. The bed is comfy with two good pillows. Our Room was cleaned daily and we were also given two bottles of water on a daily basis. When you arrive you check in at the bottom of the mountain before taking a cable cart up that took about 20 minutes. You then check in again at the top. There are two restaurants available aswell as a shop open between 10pm and 2am for late night snacks. We also enjoyed excellent service from Milson who drove us down the mountain, providing recommendations and a friendly chat. We needed to travel down the mountain to catch the 1st bus at 810 and he drove us down after we booked at reception. He was friendly and great to chat to telling us all about the resort and local wildlife. The only negative we had are that the rooms are not very soundproof - we had a mountain view room and you can hear the chairlift going up and down from 8am and people talking in the corridor aswell. The hot tub is excellent and we really enjoyed using it. They also provide complimentary smores over a gas lit fire between 8-9pm. We enjoyed getting the chairlift up for a short hike. It was fantastic views and we recommend doing this in a clear day as you can see all 3 lakes as shown by the pamphlet provided. They also have a complimentary shuttle bus that goes to and from Banff town centre 8 times throughout the day which was excellent. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. The facilities and staff made up for the noise in the room and we will be back to sample this in the winter.

We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the interaction with the staff members. Very helpful and always positive. The rooms were great and the restaurants offered nice options as well. Loved the nightly s’mores as well. Would stay here again. Nice alternative to being in Banff.
